Anything goes

The core of our teaching curriculum is a class called ANYTHING GOES. Instead of signing up to take a class based on a particular project or technique, you sign up to take a class at a particular time. That way you can work on the project of your choice; socks, sweater, hat, whatever you want! If you're not sure what to make, just talk to any of us in the shop before your class and we'll be glad to help you choose a new project.

During the summer, we will have a "Drop In" version of our ever popular "Anything Goes" classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10:00 -12:00.  This way, we can keep things going in a relaxed, summer sort of way.   You will need to confirm your spot weekly and no later than 24 hours before the scheduled class time.   The cost is $13 per 2 hour session,  payable also on a weekly basis.

Monday Morning

ANYTHING GOES

Start your week off right by taking a class with Bridgit.  Her infectious good nature will get both your knitting and your week off to a good start!

Wednesday Morning

ANYTHING GOES

Becky is our resident expert on sock knitting and magic loop knitting (not to mention just about every other knitting technique).  She’s also a ton of fun!

Friday Morning

If you are looking for fun on Fridays - stop in and Pam or another staff knitter will be hosting Anything Goes.

Skill Level: Basic Knitting to Intermediate, Age: Adult

If you don’t know how to knit please join one of our Beginning Knitting Classes;

Private Instruction

Undivided Attention For Your Knitting Questions

Private Knitting Instruction

All this year we have seen the number of private lessons we give explode.  You know how it is: you need help deciphering a pattern or setting in a sleeve.  Or, you need help with yarn that you bought at a shop that is no longer in business. Lots of customers use private lessons as way to periodically 'check in' on a project they are making or a technique they are learning. For instance if you want to make socks then sign up for a few 30 minute private lessons: the first one to get started on double point needles, the second one when you are ready to turn the heel, and the third one when you need to finish the toe. When you book a private lesson then you will receive our undivided attention for as long as you need.  The rate is $20 per hour with a half hour minimum.  You can request a certain teacher or we will set you up with someone based on the type of help you need.

To schedule a lesson, please call the shop at 952-401-7501.

 Please note: reservations are required!

Beginning Knitting

We feel it's important to get our newest knitters off to a good start so beginning knitting is taught as a private lesson. It takes about 90 minutes to learn enough so that you can independently knit a scarf. We use our own needles and yarn to teach you the basics of cast-on, knit, purl, and bind-off. Generally, students then purchase yarn and appropriate needles to take home and practice a scarf. Call the shop to make an appointment to learn how to knit. We'll get you going in no time and then you will be free to join our other classes.

To schedule a lesson, please call the shop at 952-401-7501.

 Please note: reservations are required.

Registration InformatioN

The classes always fill very quickly.  To ensure a spot, call us with your credit card number or better yet, come see us in the shop. The shop phone number is 952-401-7501.

SKILL LEVEL DEFINITION

Please pay careful attention to the skill level for each class.  It’s frustrating for everyone if students take a class that isn’t appropriate for their knitting or crochet ability.

KNITTING:

Beginner: No experience.

Basic Knitting Skills: You should already know how to cast-on, knit and bind-off.

Advanced Beginner: You should already know how to cast on, knit, purl and bind-off.

Intermediate:  You’ve learned how to read most patterns and you can knit a sweater (with maybe a little bit of help).

ADULT CLASSES: Unless otherwise stated our classes are for adults only (minimum age 14).  As much as we love kids and pets they are not welcome in our adult classes. We reserve the right to ask a parent to leave if they arrive for an adult class with a child.

KIDS’ AND TEENS’ CLASSES:  We strive to create an environment that fosters learning and creativity.  Children who are disruptive make that impossible.  If necessary, we will call the parent of a child who is being disruptive and ask that the child be removed from the class.

REFUND POLICY

Our classes require a minimum of four students.  We will notify you by phone if there aren’t enough students.  Cancellations by students must be made at least a week before the class starts in order to receive a refund.  After that date fees are not refundable or transferable.

MAKE UP POLICY

Sorry, but we do not allow students to make up classes.  If you are unable to come to all the classes then please consider scheduling a private lesson.
